What is Sync Partner Dancing?

Sync is intuitive by design – once both dancers have learned the principles of lead-follow, it’s possible to lead movements the follow has never seen. The style is body-led, and the footwork emphasises clean lines, symmetry, and a smooth, continuous flow of movement.

Four base moves make up the foundations of Sync, each of which can be varied an infinite number of ways. Sync teaches leads and follows to be adaptable and responsive to each other, to allow a spontaneous exchange of ideas as well as structured movement. The base timing of Sync is a simple 4/4, but advanced classes teach dancers to move beyond the beat, expressing the elements of the music that speak to them.

Every dance is unique to the song being played, and the dancers in the partnership. An innately creative and contemporary style, Sync above all is what you make it.
